From Flood Loss to New Hope: Housing Handover in Bulbula
The houses were built for families living in extreme poverty within the Jido Kombolcha (Bulbula) area of Adami Tulu Wereda, East Shewa Zone. The project specifically targeted six vulnerable families whose previous homes were destroyed by flooding.
The handover ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including Mr. Guta Geda, Deputy Administrator of the East Shewa Zone, and Pastor Berhanu Tareke�, Commissioner of the Ethiopia Full Gospel Believers' Church Development Commission. Also in attendance were local government leaders, Abba Gadas, Haadha Sinqees, community elders, and religious leaders.
During the ceremony, Mr. Guta Geda praised the initiative, stating, "This work is an exemplary demonstration of true love for God. Such charitable acts directly support our national development efforts by empowering the community." He extended his gratitude to the Church and everyone who contributed to making the project a reality.
Commissioner Pastor Berhanu Tareke� noted that the Commission is implementing similar community-focused projects across various regions of Ethiopia. "Seeing the joy and satisfaction of these vulnerable community members as they receive their new homes brings us great fulfillment," he remarked.
The Commissioner further revealed that this project was carried out in partnership with Compassion International Ethiopia. He concluded by thanking all stakeholders, including government representatives, for their unwavering support in completing the construction.
